Red Feather Ranch reconnects women veterans to their authentic selves through earth-based practices and a supportive community of sister veterans.
All women veterans realize their own resilience and wisdom as they find that they ultimately are their own source of inspiration.
To be a woman in the military is to live with coexisting identities that are dissonant with conventional gender roles. It is to live with the greatest empowerment and also to feel isolated, invisible, and misunderstood both by the institution in which one serves and by the society whose Constitution one is sworn to protect.
We begin and end all practices with gratitude.
We are inspired and awed by the natural world and each other.
We believe that fortunate and seemingly unfortunate events and experiences can become transformational gifts to our higher good, and we can create new stories anytime without forgetting the old ones.
Just as plants thrive in ideal circumstances with healthy soil, water, sunlight, weeding and pruning, we find the same holds true for us, producing greater quantity and quality in our own blooms, fruits and harvests. We are committed to growing in understanding and in effectiveness with all of our relations.
We value everyone’s unique path and story, and we consider it an honor and a privilege to be part of each other’s journey.
We respect the wisdom of our elders and also cherish children’s curiosity, being mindful of our legacy for their future.
